VetScan UA is an easy-to-use veterinary urine-chemistry analyzer that automates test-strip reading and removes the subjectivity and errors of over- or under-developed manual dipsticks. It reports 14 parameters by four-wavelength reflectance. Combined with the VetScan SA sediment analyzer it produces a comprehensive urine-chemistry-and-sediment report at the point of care.

Key highlights
It replaces the manual dipstick urinalysis. For some parameters it is a screening tool, for others diagnostic (e.g. glucose). Always run the dipstick together with a urine-sediment analysis for a complete picture and correct interpretation.
Like all urine test strips, the VETSCAN UA uses semi-quantitative result ranges and returns a number matching a classification or range. Refer to the VETSCAN UA user manual.
UPC on the VETSCAN UA gives a semi-quantitative result — an excellent screening tool for proteinuria. If UPC is positive but the urine sediment is inactive, retesting in 2–4 weeks is recommended.
MA can be used as an early screen for protein in urine. It is a sensitive but non-specific test that may rise earlier than UPC or the standard protein strip.
No. A refractometer should always be used to determine USG.
Yes — you can contact your local Zoetis representative.
Urine samples can be collected by cystocentesis, free catch or catheterization.
The VETSCAN UA stores up to 500 sample records.
