An immunochromatographic test that detects the p27 protein of feline leukaemia virus in whole blood, serum and plasma. It detects a part of the virus itself, not antibodies. Suitable both for diagnosis and, before vaccination, to rule out infection. Very high positive predictive value: false positives are unlikely.
A confirmatory analysis is recommended after positive results of some tests.
