An immunochromatographic test for the surface antigens of Giardia cysts and trophozoites. If infection is present, immediate treatment and household hygiene measures are important, as the agent is very stable. The test uses a blue-latex-particle coupling technology that gives an intense test-line colour on a positive result (high sensitivity) — even low cyst concentrations are reliably detected.
A confirmatory analysis is recommended after positive results of some tests.
