Log inOverview
Reliable detection of parvovirus antigen in animal faeces. Because canine parvovirus shares 99% of its DNA structure with the feline parvovirus, one test detects the agent in both species. The main route of transmission is faecal. Without timely intervention the risk of death rises sharply, whereas prompt treatment (fluids, enteral feeding) raises the chance of survival to about 90%. Early diagnosis is critical for successful treatment and to protect other animals, as the agent is extremely stable in the environment.
A confirmatory analysis is recommended after positive results of some tests.
